“Prepare to move…”

We expected to live in the Seattle area for the rest of our lives. Then, in July 2021, we felt Yahweh stir our hearts and we felt Him say, “Prepare to move.” We responded with, “Ok… where?” When we didn’t receive direction, we waited and wondered. (Unwittingly, we did not prepare to move.)

For the next 12 months, we considered many options. Our jobs are remote and we are both permitted to work from anywhere in northwest USA. We have wonderful friends in many cities and towns. All of the options had great opportunities for our family but none of them felt “right” so we just kept living life and waiting for direction.

In July 2022, while we were visiting Australia, Josh felt our family being drawn there. Jus did not agree. Without unity of direction, we came back to the US continuing to ask God, “Where?”

As we flew back, we realized we hadn’t done the one thing we knew to do: “prepare to move.” We landed with a plan. Sell our house. Get ready to be mobile. We felt led to get rid of all of our possessions. Looking back, that seems extreme! But at the time it just made sense. It felt like it was an act of embracing the call to wherever and whatever was next.

Josh sensed God give him this direction: Each day, simply take the next step. So we did.

In early November we moved out of our home and started staying with friends in WA and then family in OR. Our house is on the market (pray for a great buyer!) and we are preparing to move into a new season ahead.

This is a leap of faith. We are not fully sure what is ahead but we are taking the leap and will work out the details as we go.

We followed the “Prepare to move…” sense, and now we are ready for whatever it is!
